Blog 2 - 10/20/24

    Over the past two weeks, I mainly spent my time researching other possible volunteering destinations in case Code Blue won't work out; however, I did try and research to see if there was any predictions on if Pennsylvania will hit below 32 degrees this year. A roadblock I hit is that some news articles state it is unlikely, but most, such as Fox29, state the average degrees for Philadephia's winter 24-25 season will be 28-45 degrees. 

    Because of this, I finalized my decision to settle down on Code Blue and create my application. One of the questions within the application asked if any friends or family were willing to help volunteer on days with me as well, where I then was prompted to ask my mother if she'd like to volunteer as well as my stepdad. My mom's response and my application will be provided below: 

   

    My biggest worry from this location is that I may not be able to fulfill all of my duties due to the restrictions of my age -- me being a minor -- but I'm glad this is an option where I can still come together for the community and gain experience and insight. For my next blog, I hope to go through more thorough research and have extra volunteering locations on deck incase of ANY roadblocks which would stop me from doing this location. I will also continue to follow up with my final action plan and come up with possible fundraising ideas. However, I'm worried that may become an issue where I won't be able to complete it and truly follow through with a fundraiser as much as I would love to.
